Elizabeth “Libby” Beussink, now Sr. Elizabeth with the Franciscan Sister, TOR of Penance of the Sorrowful MOther in Toronto, Ohio. She is a 2002 graduate of Notre Dame High School in Cape Girardeau and a 2006 graduate of Franciscan University of Steubenville, Ohio. She was active in the youth programs in Perryville and Cape while in high school. After graduation she enteres the sisters and made her final vows on Aug. 6, 2014.
Sister Mary Christiana is a former member of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Bloomsdale, MO. She graduated from Ste. Genevieve High School in 2004 and entered the the Poor Clares, Monastery of St. Clare in St. Louis September of the same year. The majority of Sr. Mary Christiana inspiration to become a nun came from herself, her family, and her involvement with the youth ministry. For most seniors when they graduate they start down a path to find a career. For Cami Schwent, her career path led to a calling. Cami Schwent became Sr. Mary Christiana in the order of the sisters of St. Clare and had her final vows on January 1, 2011.
Father Jason Schumer, is the son of Robert and Jacqueline Schumer of Perryville. His home parish is St. Vincent de Paul in Perryville.A graduate of St. Vincent High School in Perryville, he earned a bachelor's degree in philosophy from St. Louis University through Cardinal Glennon College. He is now a St. Louis diocesean priest who was ordained by Archbishop Robert J. Carlson in 2010. He currently serves as the Director of Worship at Kenrick- Glennon Seminary. He recently returned home from studying for his doctorate in Rome.
Sister Bernadette Marie, Jessica Donze, is a former member of St. Agnes Parish in Bloomsdale, MO. She is the daughter of James and Debra Donze. A 2007 graduate of Valle Catholic High in Ste. Genevieve, MO, she was a member of the BUDS Youth Group and the Vincentian Marian Youth. Sr. Bernadette Marie attended Benedictine College in Atkinson, KS for two years. She is now a teaching apostolate at Aquinas College in Nashville, TN. Jessica Donze became Sr. Bernadette Marie with the order of the Dominican Sisters of St. Cecilia. Her final vows will be on July 25, 2016.
Jean Brown, now Sr. Mary George with the Sisters of St. Francis of the Martyr St. George. Her hometown is Biehle, MO and her home parish was St. Maurus. She is a 2002 graduate of St. Vincent High School in Perryville. After graduation she entered religious life and has professed final vows. She was very active in youth ministry at St. Joseph/St. Maurus Youth Group.
Mary Beth Reiss, now Sister Mary Michael, was formally received into the community as perpetually professed members of the Carmelite Sisters of the Divine Heart of Jesus following their profession of vows on July 2. Her hometown was Sereno, MO and her home parish was Our Lady of Victory. She is a 2003 graduate of St. Vincent High School and entered religious life after graduation. Vincentian Marian Youth has been privileged to have her and some of her fellow sisters continue to serve as a participant of events with VMY when her other duties allow.
Toni Grass, Sr. Rose Catherine is a former member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ozora, MO. She went to Valle Catholic in Ste. Genevieve, MO and graduated in 2009. She was involved with BUDS Youth Group and was a VMY consecrated member of Southeast Missouri. She then went on to study at Benedictine College in Atchison, KS for two years before entering the Dominican Sisters of St. Claire in Nashville, TN. Her first vows were taken in July 2012.
Father Joseph Kelly started studying at Cardinal Glennon College the same year he became involved with Vincentian Marian Youth (2008). The VMY community has been lucky enough to have him stay involved as his duties allow and serve Christ and his mother with us and our Marian journey. He became ordained on June 12, 2015 and now serves as a diocesean priest for the Springfield- Cape Girardeau Diocese!
Daniel Belkin is from Fredericktown, MO. He has been involved with VMY since 2010 and graduated high school in 2012. He then attended Kenrick-Glennon Seminary for his schooling and has his degree in Theology. He is continuing his path to becoming a priest for the Springfield- Cape Girardeau Diocese!
Brandon Roth is from Perryville, MO and is from St. Vincent De Paul Parish. He attended St. Vincent High School and felt his call to the priesthood when he was a junior in high school. This was due to his religion teacher who enjoyed working on service projects with his students. Working on these service projects made him realize how much he enjoyed helping others. He attended the March for Life with VMY in high school and is now at Kenrick/Glennon Seminary in St. Louis studying for the diocesan priesthood.
Benjamin Roth is from Ste. Genevieve, MO and is from Ste. Genevieve Parish. He attended Valle Catholic High School and graduated in May of 2017. Later that year he entered Kenrick/Glennon Seminary in St. Louis studying for the diocesan priesthood for the St. Louis Archdiocese. Benjamin has been involved in VMY since 2013.
Benjamin Govero is from Ste. Genevieve county and grew up homeschooled. He later attended B.U.D.S. Youth Ministry nights during high school. After high school he did music ministry for B.U.D.S. and with VMY. He also worked for 3 years at the St. Louis Archdiocese and currently assists with music with his wife Kathleen at St. Michael in Shrewsbury, MO. He and his wife have one daughter.
Samantha (Schmelzle) Kertz is from Ste. Genevieve, MO and graduated from Ste. Genevieve Senior High in 2007. During high school she was actively involved in B.U.D.S. Youth Ministry and VMY. After high school she attended UMSL while being a young adult for VMY. While at UMSL she also got her degree in business. In 2011, Samantha saw a need and helped out with the youth ministry program in Ste. Genevieve. From there she also became the Regional Director of VMY for about 3 years. She is currently a mom of 3, soon to be 4!
Rachael Naeger is from Ozora, MO and graduated from Valle Catholic High School in 2008. Rachael was actively involved in B.U.D.S. Youth Ministry and VMY while in high school. She attended the Missouri University of Science & Technology. While in college she also volunteered as a young adult for VMY trips. She is now living in Oklahoma and has been a 6th-8th grade Catechist at St. Mark Catholic Church in Pryor, OK.
Alex Hermann is from Ste. Genevieve county and graduated from Ste. Genevieve Senior High in 2009. While in high school, Alex was an active member of B.U.D.S. Youth Ministry and VMY and is still a current adult member of VMY. He went on to Truman State University and received a degree in Agriculture. During college, Alex spent each year as a PSR Catechist. After college he went to work for the Missouri Parks. After realizing that he wanted to work in his faith he became the youth minister for St. Vincent de Paul parish in Perryville, MO. He has been the youth minister for 2 years.
Emily Schwent is from Ste. Genevieve county and graduated from Ste. Genevieve Senior High in 2011. She was active in B.U.D.S. youth ministry and VMY throughout high school and part of college as a young adult. She attended Truman State University and received her Bachelor's in English and a Master's in Secondary Education. She spent 4.5 years of college as a PSR Catechist. In 2016, she became the director of VMY-SEMO.
Jacob Grass is from Ozora, MO and graduated from Valle Catholic High School in 2011. He was active in B.U.D.S. youth ministry and VMY throughout high school and college as a young adult. He was involved with the Catholic Campus Ministry program at Southeast Missouri State University. After college he became a FOCUS missionary. He is currently at Slippery Rock University as a FOCUS missionary in Slippery Rock, PA.
Allisyn (Dalton) Petty is from Ste. Genevieve, MO and graduated from Valle Catholic High School in 2012. She was an active member of B.U.D.S. youth ministry and VMY. After high school, she attended Benedictine College and received her degree in Catechesis. While in college she was very active in VMY and helped plan multiple Operation Overhauls. After college she got a job as a youth minister in Kansas and is now at Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Olathe, KS.
Parker Davis is from Ste. Genevieve county and graduated from Valle Catholic High School in 2013. He was active in youth ministry and VMY while in high school and college. He went to St. Louis University where he got a degree in Theology. In the summer of 2016 he did mission work with L'Arche in Seatle, Washington. He left the United States in August of 2017 to work in India with L'Arche to serve and work with those who are marginalized and mentally handicapped.
Katie Grither is from Ozora, MO and graduated Valle Catholic High School in 2014. She was active in youth ministry and VMY throughout high school. She is currently attending Southeast Missouri State University to obtain a degree in graphic design. She is the director's assistant with VMY while working on her degree. She has also been actively involved in VMY events as a young adult.
Morgan Mueller is from Bloomsdale, MO and graduated from Valle Catholic High School in 2014. She was active in youth ministry and VMY throughout high school. She is currently attending Benedictine College to pursue a degree in Theology. She spent the summer of 2016 working in the Kansas City-St. Joseph Diocese as a Totus Tuus teacher and the summer of 2017 as a Camp Savio counselor.
