Our History
In 2012, Vincentian Marian Youth Southeast Missouri (VMY SEMO) opened a thrift store named Labouré Exchange having two main goals.
The first goal of Labouré Exchange is to minister to individuals and families in need by providing them access to quality clothing and home goods at affordable pricing helping to ensure that those with lower income have access to items and materials necessary for ordinary life and meeting their needs.
To further its goal of effecting systemic change in Southeast Missouri, Labouré Exchange has developed a voucher program to further assist those individuals and families most impacted by poverty.
The proceeds generated by Labouré Exchange go directly to the support of VMY SEMO's faith formation programming centered on learning and living Vincentian Charisms. For example:

- Labouré Exchange currently works with 35+ social service organizations and community partners to provide vouchers for individuals and families in need.
- To effect great impact, Labouré Exchange's voucher program does not have a minimum or maximum monetary requirement. Needs arise due to various environmental impacts, therefore, Labouré Exchange's program is designed to address the need of their individual and not the class.
- In 2019 Labouré Exchange's voucher program gave over $10,000 in items to affected people.
The proceeds generated by Labouré Exchange go directly to the support of VMY SEMO's faith formation programming centered on learning and living Vincentian Charisms. For example:
- Weekly Youth Group.
- Preparing and serving food at the homeless shelter in St. Louis.
- Completing home repairs for members of the community while under the supervision of adult volunteers.
- Operation Overhaul - VMY SEMO's annual mission trip.
- Retreat weekends.
